CopyStack is designed as a Local-First application. This means:

• We do not transmit your clipboard history to any external servers.
• We do not have user accounts, logins, or cloud databases.
• All data is stored strictly within your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device.
• Clipboard polling data stays entirely on your machine and is never shared.

CopyStack contains zero analytics trackers. We do not track your clicks, your usage patterns, or your IP address. The extension runs in a sandboxed environment on your computer with no external telemetry.

CopyStack reads your system clipboard to provide its core functionality. Here's what you should know:

• Polling Mechanism: We periodically read the clipboard (every ~1.5 seconds) to capture copies from Google Docs, external apps, and native browser actions.
• Local Processing Only: All clipboard content is processed and stored locally. Nothing leaves your device.
• User Control: You can disable "Auto-Capture" in settings at any time to stop clipboard monitoring.
• Debounced Capture: We use intelligent deduplication to avoid storing redundant content.

To function, CopyStack requires specific browser permissions:

• Storage: To save your clipboard history locally (up to 50 items).
• Clipboard Read/Write: To capture copies and perform pastes across all applications.
• Offscreen: To maintain clipboard access when you're working in other apps (like Google Docs).
• Host Permissions: To fetch images you explicitly copy for generating local previews.

Your clipboard data is protected by Chrome's built-in security model. All data remains in your browser's sandboxed storage and is encrypted at rest by your operating system. We have no ability to access, read, or transmit your data.
